Viktor Gyokeres grabbed a brace to end his goal drought as Arsenal maintained their perfect record in this season’s UEFA Champions League courtesy of a 4-0 rout of Atletico Madrid at Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners dominated from the kick off with Eberechi Eze’s deflected strike cannoning back off the woodwork and Declan Rice flashing the rebound over the top.

The visitors offered little in attack, but Julian Alvarez went close to giving the away side the advantage following the interval with a delicious 20-yard curler that came back off the crossbar.

It proved to be a key moment as Arsenal suddenly went goal crazy with four in 13 minutes.
First, Gabriel nodded home Rice’s devilish free kick just shy of the hour before Gabriel Martinelli steered home a lovely second.
Gyokeres then notched his first goals in 10 outings for club and country, following up a fortunate, deflected effort with a poacher’s finish at the back stick following yet another excellent set-piece routine.
The result sees Mikel Arteta’s men sitting in third spot with three wins from three, and behind Inter and leaders PSG on goal difference.
Diego Simeone’s side are six points further back in 18th spot.
Next up, Arsenal host Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday. Atletico visit Real Betis in La Liga on Monday evening.
